Body Talk Class this Weekend with Pat Sullivan

This weekend Pat Sullivan from Body Talk will be conducting a seminar on the technique and how you can use some of these techniques on your own for you and perhaps other members of your family!

If you are interested in self healing and being able to cover up to 60% of their health care needs in any given month this would be the class for you to investigate. I have been going to Pat for a couple of months and have noticed improvement in the areas we have targeted thru our sessions.

It's at the Northwest Reiki Center from 9:00 until 5:00
NW Reiki Center 4205 148th Avenue NE, Suite 103Bellevue, WA 98007 USA Phone: 425-736-6980
The cost is $135.00 but discounts will be made for more than one person in a group.

Anyone who is interested can call 206-920-5528 to register.

Pat was kind enough to share this twelve minute video link of the founder of the system, John Veltheim, explaining Access and teaching one of the techniques, Cortices. It is definitely worth the time to view.

The Night has been topped by a new bat

Sweet Dreams

I thought the evening was terrific and couldn't get any better until I went up to tuck my son into bed this evening. As you may recall last week he broke his metal bat during a Little League game last week. Tonight his father brought him a new bat. When I went to tuck him in this evening he was fast asleep with his bat. Of course he's dreaming of over the fence home runs or breaking this bat again!
The private logo'd coffee tonight was great, but this is priceless

Java for Jesus is very close to being on the streets!

Wow! Can it really be ? Tonight I put the first label on a 1 pound bag of
Java for Jesus Coffee!
I had to call Branden and Makaela downstairs for the ceremonial moment!
These are the proto types and I'm still working on the web site. However, if you are so inclined to want to help sponsor my efforts you can purchase some coffee directly from me!
Help get the organization off it's feet!

Here is an up close view of the coffee bag and label!
Had it not been for the Dr. Pat Holistic Makeover I may have never made this dream a reality!
More to come as I launch the web site!
If you do attend a church and know that your youth group is fundraising for a particular event please let me know. Your organization can make up to 30% profit on each bag of coffee!
Better than washing cars and pulling weeds!

We'll listen to music all day and judge the top five songs that will be featured this year on the 2009 Foundation CD which will honor her music and message.

Wow! What a Night!

Wow! What a night! And I missed it all!
You know the drill.. take "child B" to the game.. sit for 30 mins. get the text to go pick up "child A " in 5 mins! I'm beginning to feel like a pinball game! That's when I missed this extraordinary event tonight! Branden breaking his baseball bat tonight! Apparently, when he was up to bat he hit the ball just so hard and so right that the bat split in two!
Golly Gee!
I've never seen him so excited about anything! He's hit quite a few over the fence home runs that have been great but he's still talking about this one tonight!

Here's the up close view of the bat. Branden says he needs another bat by Saturday. Have you checked the price of bats lately? He better get out and mow some lawns on Friday night!
Just as I was getting the word on this going back to the game after picking up child A and going back to Child B. Child A called to say that she has been accepted by the church for the high school mission trip to Nicaragua this summer!
Needless to say it has not been a typical evening in our household this evening!
One we won't soon forget!

Clear Living with Karen Roehl

Pantry Closet "Before" working with Karen at Clear Living

Pantry Closet "After" working with Karen at Clear Living

As part of my Dr. Pat Holistic Makeover I am working with Chef Curtis Ross and he has an associate Karen Roehl from Clear Living who generously gifted me an hour of her time to come in on a Saturday to go thru my pantry and cabinets in the kitchen.
We all know how busy we get and when was the last time you took everything out of your pantry, checked the expiration dates on cans, boxes, and just threw out those items that you never ate nor will ever eat?
Well... Karen and I did just that. We pulled everything out of this pantry and looked at it as a new space. Then with our hard work and a little help from the organizer store we had transformed a pantry closet!
We had really made a dent so I invited Karen back for a morning to tackle more of the kitchen and was pleased with our results.
The job is not hard... just time consuming! Don't try to tackle all your cupboards at one time. Take each one separately and congratulate yourself when one is completed!
If you are in the Seattle area and want to contact Karen for your own session you can visit her web site at
www. clearliving.biz
Karen also does office reorganization too for all you who love to hoard paper!

I AM creative Session with Richard Carr

I AM CREATIVE with Richard Carr
In my certificates with The Dr. Pat Show I had the opportunity on Sunday afternoon to work with Richard Carr via phone on a session creating a song for meditation on my stated intent.
Richard is a very talented musician and has his own company, I AM CREATIVE , which means Inspired, Affirmative, Music.
Your session works with Richard like this:
- You talk about your intentions.
- Together you work on the wording of your intention as a sort of "mission statement"
- You focus on that intention together
- Richard sets down the phone
-You listen
It's that easy! While you are listening he is composing a song based on what he is feeling while focusing on your intention. My song is really beautiful and peaceful. My main intention for Richard was creating a peaceful environment in my home which will carry out into other aspects of my life. He accomplished a beautiful piece based on that intention.
The next morning I had an MP3 piece in my inbox and I'll be receiving a hard copy in the mail so I can slide it into my cd player.
This is a wonderful way to treat yourself and have something personally done for you to support your meditations and spiritual growth.
You can reach Richard at http://www.richardcarr.com/
Thank you Richard for a wonderful piece.

Dream Custom Artwork

I had a wonderful surprise in my mail box today!
My custom sign from Brandie at Dream Custom Artwork!
I had found Brandie and her business while looking at blogs and happened to stubble on her site. She is very talented and I immediately contacted her about doing a sign for my front door.
Today it came and I'm extremely happy! The photo doesn't do the detail justice as she put a lot of work into the overall painting and beading. Not only did the sign come all the way from Tennessee, it was beautifully wrapped with a personal card of thanks enclosed. The attention to detail made opening this package all the more special.
Here is the contact information for Dream Custom Artwork
Enter to win your own custom art piece! Make a comment on my blog and add my button to your blog site. The winner will be contacted in Tuesday!

Acupuncture Happy Hour

Acupuncture Happy Hour
with
Elisha F Winber, L. Ac~ Relaxation Expert

On Thursday evening I had the pleasure of meeting Elisha at Soul Books in Redmond. She offers on Thursday evenings from 6-7 pm an Acupuncture Happy Hour.

When I first read about the "happy hours" I was intrigued. Having had acupuncture in the past and loving it, this was a wonderful way to connect with someone new, close to home and not to mention at an affordable price! Elisha sets up an area of the center with some chairs and a privacy screen. The group congregates in a circle for some grounding and meditation. Then she applies the needles and off you go! Elisha is there the entire time to help you stay grounded and relaxed.

Elisha also has her own private practice if you are interested in connecting with someone who offers acupuncture. She has a unique talent and you would be pleased by visiting her.

Her web site is http://www.ayaffa.com/

Hope to see you next Thursday at the Acupuncture Happy Hour!

Are you a left brain or right brain thinker?

A couple of months ago my daughter had the opportunity to participate in a wonderful program here in our area called "Brain Camp". It is generally held in the summer for a week and is an intensive study of how we think, study, take notes, and test taking skills. She participated in a three Saturday session so it was condensed but the material was very well presented.

During her participation I had the chance to discuss her studies with one of my coaches Pat Sullivan with Body Talk in Seattle. As you may recall from my previous posts, the Body Talk System works by first identifying the weakened energy circuits within the body. The practitioner relies on the body’s inherent knowledge of itself to locate the energy circuits that need repair by using a form of biofeedback, which is a subtle muscle-testing technique. The practitioner then taps the client on the sternum to “announce” the corrected energy flows to the rest of the body. http://www.bodytalksystem.com/bodytalk/overview/detail.cfm.

After a session of discussing her participation in the program and left and right brain thinking Pat shared this video link that she acquired from a newspaper talking specifically about left/right brain function.

You too can take this simple test and double check if you are a left or right brain thinker. Thank you Pat for the link!

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,22556281-661,00.html

Pat's program is amazing and I have seen positive things in me as a result of my visits. As Pat says, " Its acupuncture without the needles! ".

The Sharper your knife the less you cry- Kathleen Flinn

Another vacation book review! Here is the other book I managed to squeak out during my fun in the sun! Not having a whole lot of time to cook lately I lived vicariously thru Kathleen Flinn's book The Sharper Your Knife, the Less You Cry.

Kathleen's book flows beautifully and it's obvious that she has a journalism background. The narration of her journey is brilliant!

Why should I pick up this book and why would you feature it on your blog which talks about food for the mind, soul and body? Because Kathleen's journey does just that. The story begins with her employed as an executive with a major software company in London England and is abruptly laid off. She is an American living in London without a job, and without a job can not stay.

Kathleen after a moment of panic and "what would my mom advise me to do" Calls her boyfriend Mike in Seattle Washington. It's easy he comments, you do what you've always wanted to do: study and earn your diploma from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris France!

In the balance of the book she shares her journey of going thru the "classic cycle" Basic, Intermediate, and Superior Cuisine.

I won't tell you what happens along the way as you'll have to get the book to find out. However, it does raise one question, If you were laid off from your job today, what would you do? Would you fill the void with a job that doesn't fulfill your needs? Or would you seize the opportunity to do something you've always longed to do?

Sounds ironic during these turbulent times? It just so happens that Kathleen is Seattle and she has her own web site http://kathleenflinn.com/index.html. You will see from her web site that she is busier than ever and offers classes on food writing, photography and food blogging ( quite popular these days! )

The book is also a perfect fit for book clubs and the back offers meeting suggestions and topics of conversations.

Bon Appetite!

90 Minutes in Heaven by Don Piper

Sitting in LAX on a Sunday afternoon I picked up one book I hadn't read yet on my cruise:
90 minutes in Heaven
by
Don Piper
I started it at at 1 pm and finished when we arrived before the gate at SEA TAC at 6:30 pm.
Am I a fast reader? Not necessarily. Was it the content of the book that held me captive? Yes!
Don Piper is an amazing man who has had quite a journey.
This book begins with Don Piper recalling his story about driving home from a Baptist Convention and becomes a victim of a horrific accident. At the scene Don is pronounced dead by the paramedics. Traveling home on the same road is another attendee of the convention. The traffic is backed up so he gets out of his car as all the others to see what is going on ahead. That is when God calls on this man to go to Don and pray for him. As he approaches the scene the paramedics tell him that Don is already deceased but the individual insists that he still needs to go to Don's side and pray. Within those moments of prayer Don is in heaven and does awaken beside the this man who is praying for him.
The balance of the book is Don's recount of his struggle in recovery. His constant question is , why am I here in all this pain when I could be in heaven? I want to go back to heaven. As Don recovers he slowly trusts some with his story about heaven and his experiences while he was clinically dead here on earth.
Don now knows why God did not have him stay on heaven and why he endured a painful recovery and is now helping people all over the world with his story.
I have to say that some parts of the book were repetitive and could have been condensed. But overall it was a good and easy read. It truly does make you think about God, Heaven, and how do we serve God here on earth.
I thought it was ironic that I was reading this book on Holy Week!
I've added a clip below that I found on the Internet of Don speaking on the 700 club about his experience.

Spring Break Adventure Carnival Cruise!

Ok... so Makaela wasn't the only one who could leave for spring break and have a good time! Branden and I headed off with our friends Kelly, Hannah and Tuker for a five day Carnival Cruise on the new ship Splendor out of San Pedro, LA. and down to Cabo! Five days of fun in the sun! Here are some pics of us having some fun on the beach! Plenty of time to relax, and get some "sea legs". Read a couple good books ( one in the airport today ) that I'll be posting here on the blog in the next couple of days!
